The story of “Unmasked”
When the world entered into chaos and our lives were ordered to stop, we and many others retreated to the kitchen and took to the stove for comfort, routine and optimism. One morning while we were sitting at the kitchen table, we had a simple conversation – What if we could record all the recipes that we were seeing on social media and the stories behind them into one book. One book that would serve as a treasure chest depicting this strange and stressful time in our lives.
From one cup of tea, our idea grew and developed and we received an overwhelming amount of support and love for our little project from around the world. Our beautiful book is comprised of over 80 recipes, countless stories and beautiful photographs about Lockdown and its effects on people from South Africa to the United States.
Meet the Masterchef's
Robyn Blumenthal is a speech therapist turned super mom with the greenest fingers around. Her shabbas rare roast is one of legends and her chocolate brownie cake has people begging for more.
Natalia Blumenthal is a social media strategist with a flair for food and her most famous dish consist of beautiful ribbons of linguine nestled in a rich and tangy tomato sauce with olives – if you want to hear more, check out the pasta section 😉
Together, they have combined Robyn’s flair for language and Natalia’s creativity to create this beautiful book which has been only one of their many successful projects together.
